For Your iPhone, a Photo and Extra Juice

To mount the phone in the case you remove a plastic bumper from the edges of the case, slide the phone onto the Lightning connector, then reattach the bumper so that the holes align properly with the phone's buttons and ports. The case is quite slim and light, and seems to offer some bump-and-scratch protection, but I wouldn't count on it in a 15-foot drop test, like those used for some so-called Mil-Spec, or military specification, protective cases. Even though the case has a USB jack connection, it can still sync your phone, even when it's in the case. A phone can be synced while still in the Power Gallery; it is not the case that the phone must be removed for syncing.
